Wendy Johnny, Assistant Professor and Counselor in the SEEK Department of John Jay College of Criminal Justice since the fall semester of 1999 to the present. In addition to working in the SEEK Department, Dr. Johnny is a Clinical Psychologist at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Her scholarly work and research interest focus on Parkinson’s disease, depression and neurocognitive deficits; multicultural consideration into the assessment evaluation and psychotherapeutic process; treatment issues for African American psychiatric inpatient; religious beliefs and spirituality well-being; the impact of race-related stress on Black Americans’ mental health. In essence, her scholarly work and research interest focus on fostering understanding across real and perceived racial and cultural differences and cultural competence. In addition, Dr. Johnny is an active committee member in her church, and she is also a member of several professional organizations.
