Richard Naughton is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department. A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, he earned graduate degrees in both Law (J.D., Penn State University Dickinson School of Law, 2009) and Social Studies Education (M.S.Ed., The University of Pennsylvania, 2003). He taught Western Civilization, American History, and Civics for several years in Philadelphia and its' suburbs before joining John Jay's faculty in 2015. In addition to previously serving on the Board of Directors for both EqualityPA and the Equality Forum, he was also the Executive Director of LibertyPA, a statewide PAC in Pennsylvania advocating for LGBTQ rights. He has over 25 years of political campaign experience in both paid and volunteer roles. He is currently the Pre-law Advisor at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in lower Manhattan.
