Marsha Clowers joined the full time faculty of John Jay College in the fall of 1998. During the summer of 1998, she became an instructor in the College Bound Program at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, New York. Bedford Hills is the only maximum security facility for women in New York State. Clowers' research and instructional interests include Public Speaking, Organizational Communication, Health Communication and women in correctional settings. In addition to having presented numerous papers at both regional and national conferences, she has also been published in Communication and Health Outcomes, Journal of Health Communication, Encyclopedia of Crime & Punishment, Encyclopedia of Law Enforcement, Adolescence, Journal of Criminal Justice and Popular Culture, The Journal of Care Management, National Social Science Perspectives Journal and American Behavioral Scientist.
