Bio

Dr. Joseph King received his PhD from CUNY. His doctoral dissertation was on the history, development and centralization of the police in the United Kingdom and the United States. He served for 33 years as the Supervisory Special Agent in Charge of the Terrorist and Middle East Division, US Customs in New York and two years as Chief, National Security Section, Department of Homeland Security in New York. He has extensive criminal investigative, undercover, and court testimonial experience in the European Union and the Middle East. He served in a variety of command and managerial positions, including Group Supervisor, Regional Program Manager and Assistant Special Agent in Charge, in areas dealing with the National Security, International Terrorism, Money Laundering, Black Market Armaments and Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Weapons. Additionally, King served on numerous special assignments, including Special Investigator for the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the White House Task Force on the Iran-Contra Matters.  He joined the faculty of John Jay College in September, 2003. The works published by Dr. King include: “Terrorism: Global Answer To Global Threat,” in P. Baranov, Y.Vereshagin and A. Kontarev (eds.) Regulation of Migration Processes in the Russian Federation, Political, Legal and Law-Enforcement Aspects. Dr. King is also a survivor of, and was a rescue worker at the 9-11 event at the World Trade Center.
