I have been a trial attorney for over twenty years and have conducted countless jury trials and suppression hearings. At present, my practice includes criminal defense and civil rights litigation. Prior to private practice, I served as an Assistant District Attorney in both Queens and King’s Counties where, in addition to conducting trials and suppression hearings I wrote and argued briefs before the Appellate Division and lectured police cadets on evidence recovery and suppression issues.

I am an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice currently teaching “Law and Evidence.” This past summer I taught an online class “Criminal law of New York.” I have also taught classes on criminal procedure and a seminar on Constitutional issues. For every class I created the syllabus and organized the material, which included the reading assignments, tests and classroom lectures. The Constitutional seminar was also entirely created by myself. I developed the classroom discussions around Constitutional topics such as obscenity and criminally related topics like hate crimes, legalization of drugs and the right to remain silent. 

 My desire to teach has also taken me beyond a formal classroom as I conceived and taught a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) course for attorneys, sponsored by Lorman Educational Services, titled “Handling a Criminal Case from Arrest Through Trial in New York.” I contacted one of the leading educations services companies and presented a proposal for this CLE course. I outlined the material, organized speakers, wrote legal instruction chapters and put together a 272 page manual which included charts and sample legal documents. My efforts succeeded in having the course approved by the New York Continuing Legal Education Board for seven Skills, Ethics and Professionalism credits.

I have also appeared as a guest lecturer at Borough of Manhattan Community College, St. Francis College and served as a judge for a negotiation competition at Brooklyn Law School and the 2010 Statewide High School Mock Trial Regional Competition.

I am currently a volunteer for the Coalition for the Homeless where I drive an outreach van and deliver prepared meals to people in the Bronx. In addition, I am a charter member of the Rotary Club of Wall Street New York whose charter is to serve the community and whose main tenant is “Service Above Self.” Through both of these associations I attempt to directly serve people in need within our community.
