Eza Bella Zakirova is a legal practitioner and a researcher in sociology and law. She specializes in wrongful convictions and has examined the media framing of wrongful conviction cases. In addition, as a legal practitioner, she specializes in civil litigation, including immigration, employment/labor (Title VII, Title IX, FLSA), matrimonial, personal injury, etc. Zakirova also has extensive expertise in the pedagogy of sociology and law. Zakirova has earned a BS/MA in Criminal Justice from John Jay College and a JD from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Zakirova was one of the youngest adjunct professors in CUNY, as she began her teaching career at 22 years old.
