Delmar Dualeh is a SEEK Academic Counselor & Adjunct Faculty member at John Jay College. He started his academic career at Binghamton University obtaining a B.S. in Human Development. Subsequently, received his Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Hunter College. While finishing up his graduate degree, he interned at John Jay College and was fortunate enough to be hired at the end of his program. 

Over the last decade, he's been able to chair and create a number of our major initiatives. Leading the Academic Success Committee to support students on academic probation. He helped create the SEEKing Re-engagement Project, an initiative to support at-risk students to prevent them from ending up on academic probation. He is a SIFI Certified Field Instructor; supervising graduate social work interns that run support groups for our students struggling academically. In addition, he established the POWER (Pushing Our Will to Experience Resilience) program to increase engagement, retention, and graduation rates among men of color at our institution. Through this work, he has been able to help young men of color engage in conversations about gender roles, toxic masculinity, fatherhood, racism, and professional development. This transformative experience led to “The Implementation of P.O.W.E.R” publication and conference presentations throughout the country. Delmar's professional mission is to support marginalized students through facilitation skills, engaging programming, and thoughtful interventions.
